Botulinium Toxin - BOTOX
Botulinium toxin is a highly purified protein that is naturally able to relax muscle. By injecting very small amounts, specific muscles can be targeted to reduce the frown lines between the eye brows, the horizontal lines on the forehead or the ‘crows feet’ beside the eyes.
Botulinium toxin can also be used to improve the shape of the eyebrows and to give a slight lift to the brow.
Botulinium toxin treatments are the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure throughout the world. It is a safe procedure and gives a high level of patient satisfaction.
Treatments generally take around 15 minutes and require no downtime.
A dermal filler is a gel – like substance that is injected into the skin to improve the overlying contour. Fillers can be used very superficially to treat fine lines and can also be used in the deeper layers to soften deep lines or to improve facial contours.
A number of dermal fillers are available - They are all semi permanent and require no skin testing. Results can last from 6 months – 2 years, depending on the product used. Treatments generally take around half an hour and require minimal or no downtime.
Areas treated include
- Nasolabial lines (deep groves between the nose and corners of the mouth)
- Lips – to give more volume and/or definition to the lips
- Cheeks – dermal fillers can be used to recontour and lift the cheeks. This treatment also improves the lower face by lifting sagging skin.
- Chin augmentation
- Nose reshaping – for small dips or asymmetry
- Top lip lines
- Other lines or wrinkles on the face
- Back of hands – filler can be injected under the skin to plump it out, achieving and more youthful appearance.
- Neck - improve skin texture and hydrate
Sculptra is a treatment for anyone wanting to improve the effects of ageing, such as sagging, wrinkled skin and folds. Sculptra is injected into the areas requiring treatment and stimulates collagen production in the skin. This helps to smooth and firm areas of the face.
Results appear gradually over subsequent weeks to months, are natural in appearance and last for around 18 months.
Botulinium toxin can be used to treat excessive underarm sweating. The procedure is simple to perform and involves very minimal discomfort and lasts on average 7- 8 months.
Excessive jaw clenching and tooth grinding can result in worn teeth and dental problems, headaches and temporary mandibular joint disfunction (TMJ).
Botulinium toxin can be injected into the muscle responsible, reducing it’s excessive action.
